Weekend Update

We had a very mundane weekend but in a glorious kinda way.  There were errands and clean up but there were also naps and just good ol' togetherness and it was just plain enjoyable.  Among our activities...we headed out to Roswell to a monthly farmer's market last night.  I was hoping to find some produce and was specifically in search of some herb plants but it ended up being mainly homemade baked goods and some jewelry and whatnot.  I think the market is still in it's beginning phase as it took us approximately 7 minutes to make our rounds and walk back to the car.  When we came back though Molly had birthday package awaiting her on the porch.  It was Slink!:
Today after church we headed to the grocery store and then it was home for an afternoon nap for three.  Ahhh.  We knew we wanted to spend the rest of the evening outdoors and at home so Ryan blew all the debris from the rain off the driveway to make way for work and play.
I set up a drop cloth and some long awaited spray paint projects and Molly went to town collecting her "nature".  Here she is counting the points on her green leaf.

And here she is showing me her "spikey ball".  These things (sweet gum I think?) are all over our back yard...like not in a good way.
 And here is her collection:

We stayed out there for a good two hours and she had a blast riding and pushing and going to the "grocery store" and going to "get gas" and drawing with chalk.

She spent a good part of that time pushing her wagon up the steep part of the driveway and then letting it roll back down.  Over.  And over.  And over.

We were so proud of all that walking up hill and down hill.  She needs to practice all those different terrains, like walking in the grass among all the spikey balls.  She used to be sooooo uneasy walking in the grass (used to be = like two days ago) but she's getting better and better by the day.  So proud.
And this is the part of our house that accesses the basement door.  I bet this will be the source of all kinds of fun as she grows up!  I just know I would have LOVED it.  It's a great spot for a hideout, riding bikes, playing barbies, selling mudpies...
So, yeah, like most weekends this one was much to short but we're totally grateful for it!

  1. I want to spend the weekend with the Lucases! (I hope that's the correct plural for your last name)
