Molly's Birthday Questions : Four

Molly is FOUR!  She's been four for a day now and has enjoyed every minute of her new age.  In fact, today she's even been reading.  I mean like sounding out word after word and getting them right!  She never ceases to amaze me.  We weighed her today and she's 30 pounds exactly.  We also marked her height on the wall and it's about an inch above the previous marking (made June 1st, I believe).  This is due, of course, to her growth hormone treatment.  We found out at her last appointment that in 30 days she's grown 1.5 cm which is just over half an inch--very good for 30 days apparently.

In other new-four-year-old news, I actually followed through with asking Molly's birthday questions again this year.  Pretty proud of myself for remembering.  Here are the answers from last year if you'd like to compare.  All of the black text below is what I said.  All the red is how she answered.  Verbatim.  UPDATE:  the formatting is driving me batty...some things are not changing color no matter how hard I click the change color button.  You're smart--you can figure out who said what.

1. What is your favorite color? Red, and pink, and purple.  That’s my best favorite colors.

2. What is your favorite toy? Puzzles and my new toys.

3. What is your favorite fruit? Grapes

4. What is your favorite tv show? Franny’s Feet and Bedtime for Frances.  I like both of those.

5. What is your favorite movie? Tangled.  Did you know Tangled’s name is really Rapunzel?

6. What is your favorite thing to wear? My flower shirt and my green pants.  I like to wear skirts and leggings and shorts and pants.  That’s all I like to wear.  And dresses.  That's all.

7. What is your favorite animal? An elephant.  I like baby animals the best. (This said after attending her cousin's baby animal birthday party yesterday;)

8. What is your favorite song? Jesus Loves Me. The Shepherd lullaby (My Shepherd Will Supply My Need).  The cowboy lullaby (James Taylor's Sweet Baby James).  And Lennon and Maisy. (She's talking about THIS and all other videos by them.  She's fascinated...especially by Maisy.)

9. What is your favorite book? The Veleveteen Rabbit and The Wizard of Oz (we just finished reading Frank Baum's Wizard of Oz.  Took us a few weeks and she loved it.  We're taking her to see the puppet show in October at the Center for Puppetry Arts since I think the movie's a bit too scary for her.  She always asks to watch it though.)

10. Who is your best friend? Arena. Sadly (for Molly) Arena is now in kindergarten instead of with her everyday.  She's spent every (school) day for the last 2 years with Arena plus show rehearsals etc. for even longer.  They're pretty tight.

11. What is your favorite snack? Fruits and vegetables cause they’re always good for us. (um...Sunday School answer much?  Editor's note: This is not true.)

12. What is your favorite drink? Water.

13. What is your favorite breakfast? Cereal.  Pancakes.  Golden Puffs.

14. What is your favorite lunch? Carrots and hummus and grapes and blueberries.

15. What is your favorite dinner? Green beans.  No, what’s your favorite food?  Green beans.  No it’s not.  Yes it is!  And chocolate chip cookies.  Oh yeah, and chicken pot pie.

16. What is your favorite game? Duck duck goose.  Oh and when we played that game at choir Rex said "chicken nugget" when he touched my head...ha ha ha.
17. What is your favorite thing to play outside? Um….my…scooter.  And swing.

18. What’s your favorite bible story? Jonah and the whale.

Bible verse? God’s way is perfect.

19. What do you sleep with at night? Do you mean what do I like to sleep with? Yes. Robearto, Robearto, (launches into made up song about how Robearto’s the best for next minute and a half.)

20. What’s your favorite thing about Daddy? Um…playing with him cause he is really funny and cause he loves me and cause he loves God and cause he loves all the people in the world. She was totally sincere when giving this answer.  So sweet.

21. What’s your favorite thing about Mommy? Um…you are really nice and you love the Lord and you are really cool and you know that God made me and you love me and cause you are my friend.  Awww:)  I think she was trying to make sure mine measured up to Ryan's;)

22. What’s your favorite thing about Jack? Um, I like when he chews on my finger a lot and cause he’s funny and I love to play games with him.

23. What's your favorite thing about God? He loves us and He made us and that’s all I wanna tell. 

24. What do you want to be when you grow up?  A nurse. Cause I’m a girl. Zach's a nurse. No he's not.  Yes, he is.  Boy's can be nurses.  Oh! Okay. My favorite nurse is Miss Mary. (She's the nurse at Dr. Van Meter's office and is his daughter and Molly LOVES her.)

25. What’s the best thing about being 4?  Um…I just like being four.
