Ryan and I went back and forth daily about how we wanted to get Jack's hair cut and how we never wanted to get her hair cut. The mullet finally had to be tamed however, and here is the tale of it's taming.
We went to Pigtails & Crewcuts, a shop specializing in children's cuts. Jack got to sit in a yellow taxi cab--it was my favorite one. He was fine until we sat him down and then he started crying (exhibit A-upper left hand corner). The lady gave him some animal crackers and upper right hand corner is how he reacted (my fave:)
He then found out that he didn't care for animal crackers (who knew?) so we switched to puffs for the duration of the experience. Lower left and right hand corners are just examples of how darn adorable he is.| If only the price on the taxi were the price of the haircut;) |
We never heard a peep out of Molly. She took over Jack's rejected cup of animal crackers and played at the train table the entire time.
| In the zone. |
And here's the sweet after:
This morning he looked so grown up in his big boy haircut and Sunday best.
Wearing his cousin's tie and his new white loafers that I got right after I found out he was a boy (and thankfully put on him just in time).
I love seeing both of my children reading books all on their own. It's a sweet sight.
So there you have it, ladies and gentlemen. Our baby boy is one step further from baby and one step closer to boy.
