Molly started talking about turning four the day after she turned three. (And now five is on the brain.) So as we got closer I decided to make a visual countdown to avoid (or more accurately, explain) the "how many days before I'm four" questions. A birthday advent calendar of sorts. It worked, she loved it, and we'll be doing it again!
Since her birthday falls on the Sunday of labor day weekend we brought snack to her preschool class buddies on the Friday before. To keep with the upcoming circus theme I printed out some cupcake toppers and attached a lollipop (for maximum sugar consumption purposes) and she asked for purple icing.
Here she is with her preschool pals (minus one):
The next day was Saturday and the day of her circus party. It was also the day of her cousin Marci's baby animal birthday party. I was the face painter for Marci and her friends. I did a few kitties, a couple of giraffes, a couple of tigers, an elephant with a polka dot bow, a butterfly, and a few puppies. Here's one of the litter:
We had lunch at Marci's party and came home to nap and ready for our own. It was a day chock full of fun!
The next morning was the real birthday. She woke up and it looked like Christmas morning up in here. We were so fortunate to receive some INCREDIBLE hand-me-downs that we turned into fourth birthday gifts...cause we're cool like that. But, seriously. Look at this Angelina Ballerina set. It's like, the best. She was (and still is) in love.
And this isn't even all of it. It's amazing.
And then, there was a Dora bike sitting out too. With training wheels. Epic birthday morning much? We went to church that morning with MiMi and Pop and Grandma and Granddaddy and then Molly chose lunch at Chuy's (her new favorite). There were sopapillas involved. It was a great day:).
