The Color Purple

DISCLAIMER:  The following picture is in no way an accurate representation of our day today.  However, it does perfectly capture the spirit of it's subject.  Side note: have you ever seen so much purple in your life?!  I'm personally not a huge fan of the color (perhaps the color was overplayed in the dorm rooms of my past) but this girl makes anything look good:)
Yeah, today was a more difficult day for sure.  There was a lot of crying today and general discontent.  On top of the obvious, she's got two more teeth trying to push their way through.  Molly was very frustrated at her inability to move like her most recent "normal".  See, she used to crawl by pushing with her toes and pulling with her forearm but now her feet are all bound up:(.  They were a part of her signature wave too:(.  She didn't do much on the floor crawling today...BUT  she can sit up now!  She can stay seated without support and she's loving it!  Those muscles got their memory back fast!  She can actually sit and play in the floor without constantly having to balance her body weight on her arms.  Ryan sent me this pic of her playing this morning after I left for school:

And here she is at breakfast:
She can now bend from the waist so she puts little crumbs on the chair and then bends down to eat them one by one.  We rigged up a hardwood-floor-and-furniture-saver, aka three men's tube socks.  One duct taped around the bar and the other two covering the legs with a slit cut to fit around the bar.  While our floors have already taken a bit of a beating from the other two casts, this one is far more brutal!
Anyway, the day is done and things should only get better and more "new normal" from here on out.

Oh, and notice the new countdown...I got news of her cast removal appointment today and we've already got LESS THAN FOUR WEEKS TO GO!  Woo Hoo!!

  1. Wow. What an emotional couple of days for you guys... I know it had to be cause just seeing pics of Molly in her entirety affected me...

I'm thinking about you all and praying for you both and for a less mobile Molly (I can imagine how completely frustrating the whole cast thing would be!). So so glad this will all be over for you and for her in 4 weeks!!!

    All my love...
