Go ahead. Make my day.

It's been like a year and a day since I've posted (really just slightly under a month).  I'm on here for just a minute today to record Molly's and my car conversation this morning:

Molly: (in the car still in the garage, Ryan waving, he can't hear this): Bye, bye Daddy.  You go to work. I'm blowin' you a kiss.  We goin' to school.

Me: what a beautiful day it is!

Molly: oh, yes, it is bootiful.  Thank you God for [this] bootiful day. (singing) "this is the day, this is the day, dat dee Lord has made, dat dee Lord has made, let us be-boys, let us be-boys and be glad in it and be glad in it...."

(Don't know if she really thinks I'm saying "let us be boys" or if that's just how she pronounces "rejoice".)

Then she really pulls out all the stops for the next part.

Me:  I'm so glad you're happy this morning.  I love to hear you sing.

Molly: I love to hear you sing too, Mommy.  How 'bout....ABC's? "A, B, C, D, E, F...." Stop, Mommy. Red light.  Oh, I see some childrens going to school. Oh, a schoooool bus, a yellow one, right there!!!!!  It's green, Mommy.  Go, Mommy, go!!!  Where were we...

Me: E, F....

Molly: G, H, I, etc.etc.

I pull into the left turning lane for the church.

Molly: We here, we here.  I'm ready for school

I park and open up the door and undo her carseat.

Molly:  Thank you, Mommy.  I'm so happy to see you this morning!

I get teary eyed (seriously).  This totally makes my day in every way.

Me: I'm so happy to see you too, Molly.

We go inside.

That's it.

  1. holy moly, don't you just wish you had a constant video camera rolling to catch every special moment? I get teary eyed when I think of Fischer growing up and getting past this itty bitty snuggly stage, but to hear so much about Molly growing up makes me excited to know what he's going to be like :) I love this.
