Our Travels' Roundup

After we helped Karma and Mark move on the 2nd and 3rd, Ryan and I set off toward Kentucky on the 4th of July. We stopped in Knoxville to pick up Grandma and arrived in Georgetown just in time for a yummy supper of roast, potatoes, lemon pound cake and derby pie. The next morning Great Crossing Baptist Church honored my parents for their 7 years of service with special speakers and a big lunch after church:

Mom and Dad have put lots of work into the yard. Dad's gardens are beautiful this year with tomatoes, beans, corn, cucumbers, pumpkins...

...and squirrels! Although I think he has that problem under control now after catching a few in the have-a-heart and driving them down to the creek to let them go.

And here's his new Mennonite-made building:

The treehouse has really come together since it's start at Thanksgiving. Dad built a fabulous sturdy staircase leading up to the deck of the house and while we were there Ryan helped him add a door to the storage area at the base of the tree:

The siding for the treehouse (to match the real house) came in right as we were leaving and I hear some of it has made it on already. Can't wait to see!
We also got to see Sandy while we were in and even had a short card-playing night with her current summer missionaries which was fun. Ryan and Dad soaked in some baseball games and Grandma and Mom kept busy making Molly's curtains and a pack-n-play sheet for Maggi.
We left Wednesday morning, dropped Grandma off at her house and made our way back to Marietta to spend the night. Ryan worked a bit on Thursday and then we headed to Mississippi that afternoon and arrived in time for a yummy supper of spaghetti, salad and garlic toast. Wait, am I repeating myself?? Good grief our families know how to spoil us with good food! While we were there Ryan got his Wii fix, Mike and Sandra presented us with a car seat for Molly, Sandra and I went shopping, we got to visit with Mawmaw Lucas, spent an evening catching up with Kaleb and Lacy (and Tori) at Bay Springs Country Club pool, and did I mention the good eats?

Here we are on Friday night at Zack Garvin's:

We met Ryan's grandparents there for a fab steak dinner!

On Sunday, Sandra's Sunday School class threw Molly a shower at Suzanne's house (she's the one below in red with the long dark hair):

There was a lovely spread of cake, punch, fruit, cheese straws all set up in the dining room...I didn't get pictures with my own camera but I'll share when I have them.
There were lots of lovely ladies there that I've come to know over the years and they brought lots of lovely gifts to welcome Molly with:

Maw Maw Sellers was able to be there too:

She gave Molly a beautiful white Feltman Bros. dress with a little slip to go with it...

MiMi (Sandra's new title) picked out this adorable little brown outfit with flowers because it reminded her of me...I agree:)

This sweet little newborn gown came from Lanae McCormick and it has Molly's little monogram on it:

Molly also got some toys and books, her first Bible (from MiMi and Pop), bathtime things, teethers, car mirrors so we can keep an eye on her and more lovely little wearables. (Oh, and Lacy made 3 great collage artwork pieces to hang in Molly's room. I'll have to take a picture and get them up here.) It was a wonderful shower (and trip) and I'm so grateful to family and friends in Mississippi!

We had rush back to the house to get things packed and ready to go and Ryan and I were back in Marietta by midnight to stay indefinitely...and we wait...
