We had an appointment with the specialist again today. I always look forward to these visits because we get to see our little one again. This time we watched her breathe in and out and we watched her mouth suckle and she moved her hands and feet all around for us too...simply amazing! Today was a measuring day, meaning they took the time to measure each organ and limb with special regard to her kidneys and bladder. As the tech measures you can see the gestational age pop up with each measurement. My current gestational age is 33w 6d (which is 33 weeks and 6 days as I will be 34 weeks tomorrow) but all of her numbers were higher as we've come to expect now visit after visit. At my last visit, one month ago, they estimated her weight to be 4 lbs. 9 oz. which is bigger than average. We were anxious to see what today's estimate would be and were shocked by the number (
drumroll please...) 7 lbs. 2 oz!! That's the size of an average baby on birth day and I still have 6 weeks to go!! The tech couldn't believe it herself and measured Molly one more time before she announced the prediction. Now, these estimates are give/take 14 oz. but one things for sure regardless...this is one big girl! Her urology issues are still the same--blockage on the right side, needs to be addressed after she's born. They've asked to see me again in 3 weeks to monitor her size and her kidneys. We didn't get a picture today because Molly had her face
smushed against the placenta and wouldn't let us. When I came home though I started going through the many ultrasound blobs we've collected along the way and they reminded me of just how far we've come since those scary beginning days! God is good, all the time! I thought I'd get them all put into the computer for safe keeping (we just got a new printer/scanner) and share them with you. They're hard to decipher but it's amazing just to see the changes. (if you click on the images it should give you a bigger picture to look at.) So happy things are moving along!!
5w 6d-look for the sphere above the mouse arrow
7w 2d-a little bigger now
9w 3d-her feet are the bundle on the left and her head is on the right of the dark area
17w 3d-this was the day we found out it was a girl!

Feet still on the left and head on the right.

A bird's eye view of her bottom
23w 6d-a profile of her face. The bird beak looking thing on the right is her feet coming up to touch her mouth. The white arc in the middle is her forehead and the dark area is her brain. You can make out the shape of her nose and lips too.
