Getting the hang of things

Well, Molly hasn't even had her cast for a week yet but I feel like we're starting to get in the groove of spica life. The moms on this hipbaby forum I'm a member of are really incredible and offer so much insight on everything. Molly's sweet spirit continues to amaze me and I'm so thankful for it! Oh, she gets frustrated and certainly lets us know it but those times are fewer and farther between than I expected.

On Saturday, Josh, Tad and the kids came over for a visit. Here are some upside-down kisses:

We actually made it to church today. We were late so I didn't bother taking Molls to the nursery for lack of time to explain things etc. She sat fairly quietly through Sunday School and then we sat in the balcony during the service. I put her in our new FANTASTIC Ergo baby carrier (pic at the bottom) and she fell asleep during the music and stayed asleep for the duration of the service. We'll try the nursery next week I think. When we got home I took a picture of Molly's old carseat (we miss you dear chicco!) next to the new one. It's HUGE! I sit in the back with her now because we had to move the passenger seat up as far as it would go.
Molly's lower body position gives a great shape to her dresses! I think she enjoyed the outing at church today! We've been enjoying the blessing of fabulous meals from people in our Sunday School class. It's been so great to not have to worry about what to make for dinner while we're just learning the ropes with her.
Molly is really into phones lately. We got out one of the old cell phones we keep in a basket for our neices and nephews and she played with it all afternoon:
And I'll leave you with two new exciting additions to our new routine. The first? The Ergo baby carrier! We got it yesterday and I've already gotten a ton of use out of it. Since she doesn't fit in either stroller or our baby bjorn I searched for other options online and found this mentioned over and over again. We went to try one on yesterday and it was like it was made specifically for the spica. It's designed to hold the child in an ergonomically correct seated position instead of just suspending them from their crotch. (side note: I've LOVED our Baby Bjorn up til now! but it just doesn't come close to working with her cast) She can ride in the front, on my hip, or on my back and it works for newborns up to 45 lbs. It feels great on, she loves it, and I don't get tired or sore from wearing it. Incredible!
Thing #2: Last week one of the moms on the hipbaby forum posted that she was giving away her daughters spica table to anyone who could pick it up in the Atlanta area. Well I replied as soon as I saw it but I just missed it! Turns out she lives in Marietta too and though I didn't get the table she did make herself available to me through email and has since given me lots of advice. Well, another table became available and I jumped on it and I was the first! So for the cost of shipping we now have this beauty to look forward to:

Lilah's mom reports that she is out of her cast and doing great! This table will make it possible for Molly to be able to sit up and play with her toys or eat her finger foods without falling over and needing repositioning every two minutes. Sooooo excited about this! Thank you little Lilah!
Praising God from whom all blessings flow!
