I picked up some pink duck tape the other day to use when we run out of the so-called 'waterproof' tape that the hospital gave us. While Molly and I were playing this afternoon I did a little closed reduction of my own on her beloved lamb, Gertrude:
Gertie's doing just fine and adapting rather quickly thanks to her been-there-done-that pal!
Molly actually found Gertie's new garb fascinating despite the "mom-you're-totally-insane" look she's sporting here:
And this is my last string of hyphenated-words-used-in-place-of-adjectives filler.
She just cracks me up:)
She seems to be doing really well, Ash. Keep up the good Moming.
ReplyDeleteOne of my choir members told me that a child of hers had to go through this with a cast on both legs. She just wept when they put the cast on her. Not the child. The child only cried when they took it OFF. And not for pain, but because she didn't want them to take it away!
Ashleigh and family,
ReplyDeleteMolly looks so sweet next to the lamb. You are so smart to think of that. God has truly blessed you with an angel...how many children would take this in stride. I know with Hannah and her seizures she takes things much better than me...her attitude has helped me cope. May God richly bless you all and may the time pass quickly for her recovery.
Love and prayers,
Andrea, David, Hannah and Haley Rhoten
You are a genius! So creative! I just teared up and thought of what a good Mom you are. Molly is going to look back at these pictures one day and be so amazed at your efforts to make her more comfortable. She is so happy and resilient because YOU ARE! May God continue to give y'all strength and patience and quick healing for little Molls. Love you, Lacy
ReplyDeleteKudos to you, Mommy! You are making the best of this ride and making memories along the way! You are proof-positive that God gives us grace to go through whatever unexpected junk that comes our way...and come out shining...w/ pink duct tape. Toree had a pink bunny that was with her every step of the way during her hospital stay (and subsequently, the four surgeries that followed over the next five yrs.) Still today, I won't part w/ Pinky. Gertrude is now a permanent member of the family, too, I am sure!
ReplyDeleteThank you all for your heartfelt, kind, words of encouragement!! It's true...I have a sweet baby with a sweet spirit that I'm incredibly grateful for but it's also the fabulous friends and family that help me to stay so positive:) Thanks again and I love you all!
