My Old Kentucky Home

I'm trying to catch up on some posts here to get things up to speed so there'll be a little less talk and a lot more pictures.

Before we found out about Molly's DDH we had planned a visit to my parents in Georgetown, Kentucky over the fourth. Once her surgery was scheduled for the sixth we decided to go through with the trip. It was gorgeous there--sunny, breezy and beautiful every day. Dad has a (well, three) beautiful garden(s) this year and he took Molly for a tour:

Aww shucks, Granddaddy!
Looking at the beans
Pointing out the squash
Granddaddy's Garden Girl
This past week I dressed Molly exclusively in clothing that I knew wouldn't fit once cast time rolled around. Here she is looking like a Cupie doll in her overalls.
And in an outfit from MiMi and Pop
Molly LOVED the rocking action of Mom's little chair
Chomping on some ice to sooth those aching gums
Playing with Granddaddy
Watching the Reds beat the Cubs
Little Miss Priss (sometimes)

We made a trip to the playground to get in some swinging and sliding B.C. (before cast)
Hi Mom!

That's what I call basking!
Here she's waving to some people on a bench

So high!

The view from the treehouse to the house and one of Dad's gardens
And now from the other side
Swinging on the side porch
First waffle
Gimme five
All decked out for church on the Fourth of July

Bye Bye Grandma and Granddaddy! Thanks for all the fun! We love you!
On the way back home we stopped in Knoxville to see Grandma Dot. Molly enjoyed showing off her tongue-clicking trick for Dot Dot.
Molly even took a few stabs at saying "Dot Dot" before we left.
We left there at 9 and made it to Kara's in time for John's fantastic fireworks show at 10. It was so good to see Wyatt and Jonah. Molly gets a kick out of them!

Molly held on tight during the fireworks. She was torn between hiding her face at the loud noises and peeking to see the pretty display.
A little uneasy!
We drove home that night and Molly, as always, was so ready to sleep in her own bed. Good times:)
