And it begins...

Well, Thursday was 8th grade graduation, Friday was spent finishing the "great room clear out" (my classroom's being renovated this summer as part of our church's new plan of action so everything had to go!), and the rest of the weekend we headed to Kentucky to see my parents (and my sister and my grandma along the way).

As per usual (lately) I didn't get many pictures of the trip.  Four to be exact.  And not a one of anyone we went to see:(...well, except for these geese.  Or gooses as Molly refers to them:

You see, we were driving along and saw a bunch of deese and gucks (that's how it came out in my head and I thought I'd share) and I thought:  Ohhh, perfect!  We'll get some beautiful, picturesque photos of Molly, pond-side feeding bread to the ducks!  But alas, we didn't have bread so I made Ryan drive back to my parents' house to get some (and the camera, which we also didn't have with us) and then all the way back to capture this "spontaneous" moment.  Turns out Molly really was fascinated by the animals but they were far too aggressive to set her down.  We went up to the water and as soon as they saw the bread the whole flock just migrated toward us and surrounded us demanding more.  See that big white one?  Yeah, it's hissing at us.

The stroller was our only weapon.  So after throwing all our bread away we ducked (hehe) back into the car before they could get us and that was the end of feeding the ducks.  But it was a great visit with Mom and Dad, and Grandma Dot and the whole Davis family.  And Molly really got to practice her WALKING!

Meanwhile, back at the ranch, our house lay untouched....since we moved in.  Really.  So I started in working to change that yesterday and I'm proud to say the playroom is a totally different color now!  But that won't matter to you unless you know what color it was.  So I'm finally posting some interior pictures of the house so I can document the great strides little progress we do make this summer.  The playroom, as we call it, is our favorite room in the house and the one we spend the most time in because we like to play:).  No, it's probably because there is soooo much light.  Like fourteen windows worth!  And all at perfect Molly height.  Here it is before we closed:

Great room, right?!  We think it was once more of a screened in porch or part of the now-much-smaller deck but we love what they did with the place.  The windows are nice and new (and beige) and you see the shade on the walls?  It's a great sell-your-house-neutral that is echoed in the carpet, walls, countertops, flooring, of EVERY ROOM IN THE HOUSE!  Which is sooooo much better than the crazy 80s wallpaper and yuck-carpet that was there before this, but if you know us you know we're anything but neutral.  Easy fix and one I'd rather make myself anyway.  Here's the playroom in everyday operation (well, except for the toys are picked up) since we moved in:

Nothing new except the addition of "stuff".  I'm super excited now though because I just finished painting the walls this afternoon and didn't remember to take a picture until it was too dark so I'll update tomorrow with the latest playroom view!
