Cow Appreciation Day 2011

Last Friday was cow appreciation day at Chick-fil-a which translates in to a tasty opportunity as cow-stume=free meal.  So Molly and I got to work on the costumes that morning among other things like, oh, packing for our vacation departure the next morning.
Molly dons her cow puppet to get in the mooooood (Ryan is soo rolling his eyes at this one I know):
Daddy cow, Mommy cow and Molly cow:
Molly collected the spots in her bucket as I cut them out (of black contact paper--free from the basement):
And here she is "ironing" the shirts with her sand-packer:
I mentioned we were packing for the beach.  Well, these books were waiting to be wrapped up for a mid-vacation birthday celebration for my nephew, Sammy.  Molly kicked back like this for multiple minutes while waiting on me to finish our cow spots.  Love. it.:
And shortly thereafter I found this in the kitchen:
One of M's favorite activities is playing in the drawer that houses her dishes but the pattern of these plates stopped me dead in my tracks...THEY'RE IN RAINBOW ORDER!  I know she didn't mean to do it that way (or did she?) but if you knew my obsession with ROY-G-BIV you'd know my heart was swooning over this (and no, they aren't stacked like that in the drawer...although that sounds like something I'd do).

So the time came to put our cow suits into action.  Ryan was working from home so we timed things to coincide with his lunch break just to be sure that the whole family looked like idiots err, cows.
Here she is...our calf:
Pointing out her newly painted pink hooves:

And here's our herd (thanks to Jaynie Chandler for coming out from behind the counter to snap our family pic:)!  I have to point out that all three of us are sporting ear headbands you just can't tell as well on Ry and me:
All Cows Eat Grass Fruit:
Totally mesmerized and terrified by the giant cow:

We all enjoyed our FREE meals and seeing the umpteen other Eastsiders dressed in their bovine best.  Molly talked about the giant cow all the way home while exclaiming things like "eat more chicken" and "my nose is black, Mommy, and my toes are pink"
We love "Chick-a-lay"!

  1. Oh my goodness !!!!! Could Molly be any more precious ????!!!!! I just wanna hug her !!!! ;) I love the spica chair, and oddly enough, Mia is getting the same bean bag chair, except in pink !! LOL (I'm loving the green though....maybe should've gone with that one !!) Anywho...she's precious, you are wonderfully sweet, and seeing Molly out of her cast and feeling better, just makes my heart smile !!! I know that one day my Mia will look just as happy when this is behind us, and she isn't in any more pain !!! ;) Thank you !!! ;)
