House in the House

I found this lovely, lonely house at my neighborhood Goodwill not too long ago (around April when I was searching for cowboy boots for a slew of seventh and eighth graders actually) and I immediately snatched it up and looked around  to see if anyone was gonna fight me for it.  Thankfully I was the only one around who cared (btw the doors which you see propped up and laying on their sides aren't attached but they still work):
I knew immediately (from my obsession with toys I can't afford) that it was from Plan Toys and a look at the side proved it.  (Sorry about the bad cell pics, I've temporarily misplaced my camera):

So, anyway the reason I'm posting about it now is that I just looked up the price for a new Plan Toys My First Dollhouse and it is, are you ready???
$139.99!!!  I know, right?!  That's the price for this unfurnished, newer model (it has a balcony now):
Now, you wanna know what I paid?

That's right! Six bucks!  Not bad for Molly's "big" Christmas toy...I plan on re-wallpapering and cleaning it up for a fabulous Christmas morning surprise!

  1. That's an amazing find!! Aaron got Gracie this dollhouse for Christmas and she adores it, but I knew it was expensive. So I also got online to find the dolls that go with it - almost $150!! I was like "uh, no thanks." They have these really cute forest animal families at Target, WalMart, etc and Gracie LOVES to play with them in her dollhouse. They were only $10 - much cheaper than the over-priced wooden dolls!

  2. Well I hope Molly doesn't read this blog then. The surprise would be ruined.
