Here's Melody scouting things out:

She's been very curious this whole time about what's going on and what all the racket is (when she can actually hear them).
Here is the hole from the now absent vent pipe. It ran all the way from the furnace, up through Ryan's closet, through the attic and out the roof. (Perhaps that's common knowledge to everyone but me. It makes sense now seeing as it's a vent pipe but I didn't know where it went.):

Here is the hole for the new can that will be close to the sink:

And the one above the shower. I love recessed lighting!

A VENT! There has been no air circulation whatsoever in this bathroom since we've lived here-hence the everpresent mold and mildew-but now we'll have a fan! I tell you it doesn't take much to excite me.
Below is another piece of the electrical puzzle they worked on yesterday. That rectangular opening will house a triple light switch-one for the cans, one for the fan, and one for the vanity lighting. It will be right inside the doorway to the left:
Last but not least, here is where the pocket door will go. They painstakingly removed the inside drywall careful not to disturb the hallway wall. You see, our walls are made of plaster which is difficult to match so they are trying to keep up the original wall so that everything looks the same. Same idea with the pocket door-they bought a kit to convert our old (nice solid wood)bathroom door into a pocket door to make everything match in the end...very cool. Here is the start of the pocket door frame which they finished before they left yesterday:
