The Lucas Lowdown: Greetings in 2011

We've been off on lots of Christmas adventures and holiday excursions lately and I haven't had the chance to post in awhile. Since my last entry we made the trip to Mississippi for nearly a week of wonderful Christmas-celebrating and priceless time with family. Then upon our return we day-cationed in Atlanta--finally enjoying our yay-Molly's-out-of-her-cast-plans, a trip to the Georgia Aquarium. Then came a too-short but well-enjoyed visit by the Davis family to Marietta in celebration of Wyatt's 4th birthday and we rounded out our time off with a refreshing visit from dear, dear friends Kaleb and Lacy for New Year's. All of these happenings were of course documented but seeing as I have to actually get going at normal people hours in the morning the pictures will have to wait.

Our January is off to a running start with two surgeries in the next two weeks. Please pray for Molly as she goes in for her ureteral reimplantation surgery this Wednesday, January 5th. I don't know the time (and won't until probably Tuesday) but I will update with information as I can. We were told that she'd be in the hospital for 3-5 days and then have an at-home recovery time of 7-14 days. My mom and dad will be coming to help out after she's discharged. What a blessing!

My foot surgery is the next Wednesday, January 12th. I've been told I'll be completely off my feet for 2 days and recovery time varies after that. He talked like I would be able to drive to my follow-up appt. about 5 days after surgery which sounds like a quick recovery to me! The pain is increasingly worse every couple of days now and I am aching to get in there and get this taken care of NOW...January 12th cannot come soon enough!
